The generation and use of Electricity.

Electricity is the energy that fuels our modern lives and homes. Without it society would find itself on a severe pause and the things we take for granted such as light, heat, clean water and even our source of entertainment would be restricted. However, electricity is not infinite. We need to think about how we can use less of it or at least make our use of it more efficient.

For example. Turning off laptops and computers, not leaving on lights in a room, not over filling the kettle with more water than we need and making sure we have an efficient heating system are key. An Electric Underfloor Heating Gloucestershire based installation firm has some ideas on that.

Outside of the home, power generation firms are looking at ways that our electricity can be generated without warming the Earth or relying on fossil fuels. In the past the turbines that created our electricity relied solely on coal. Coal contributes to global warming. It is finite. The same is true of oil powered turbines which is why we have moved towards wind, solar, hydro-electric and nuclear. There have been times this year when we have not had to use coal at all,a real breakthrough.
