How pneumatics work

Using a system of movement around a warehouse is one of the prime objectives of the pneumatic system. It’s been the saviour of many warehouses that have looked to diversify into, or primarily deal with, the storage of loose items. Bulk storage of tea, coffee, medical pills, liquefied gases or just a liquid itself is very big business. One of the many advantages of dealing in this commodity is that the requirement you need to build a warehouse to store these items is not so great.

Pneumatic conveying systems, like those available from Aptech, are designed for this purpose. They use  air to push and pull the products through the pipes. This is done at varying speeds depending on the product that is being moved. If it’s too fast then items like pills can be lost. However powder products like coffee and tea can be sent racing along and delivered safely and speedily to the required destination.

Due to the products being sealed in pipes the pneumatics system works to protect the products. Many items that are moved using pneumatics need to be kept in an uncontaminated state. Through the use of pneumatics this means that human interference is greatly reduced. It also means that outside particles cannot easily breach the storage tanks and pipes that the product is moved around in. This means that the delivery options can receive the goods straight into their holds for shipment.
