Look After Your Health as we Head Back to Work

Going back to work after being off on furlough, or working from home will be a daunting prospect for many and will come with a wide range of mixed emotions – on one hand, it is exciting to go back in and get back to normal, as well as the relief of having a job still amid the huge rise in unemployment. But some people may also be feeling worried or scared about getting back into it and worried about if they are safe from catching the virus.

Keeping healthy in the workplace is extremely important in these troubling times. Look after your physical health at work by ensuring that you are not putting too much of a strain on your body. If you are sitting down at a desk for long periods, ensure that your posture is good and that you have the correct chair for you – if you need to, get a new chair as soon as possible by ordering a next day office furniture delivery.

It is also important to concentrate on your mental health at work, especially in these unusual times. Lots of workers have mental health problems such as anxiety and depression at some point during their working lives. If you are feeling worried or think you may be suffering from mental health problems, speak to a manager or supervisor that you trust. It is also good to take regular breaks from your desk and stretch to keep active. If you can fit in a walk during lunchtime, even if only 10 minutes, this will also help to calm those nerves and anxieties.
