Making the most of your conservatory.

During this boiling hot summer there is one rom in the house that you probably should get around to using a lot more if you have one. It’s the conservatory. Its just made for this kind of summer and Britons all over the nation will be quite gladly relaxing out in these with a nice cup of tea or maybe a naughty little (or large depending on the time of day) Gin and Tonic. If you don’t have one its high time that you thought about having one. They are extremely versatile especially when it comes to how you use them. One thing you’ll definitely need is some decent furniture and you could go for the classic style of Lloyd Looms Chairs like the ones available at https://lloydlooms.co.uk/

The conservatory is a room for rest and relaxation. It is there to allow you to sit and enjoy your garden in all its summer glory without getting sunburned as the windows will keep out the UV rays. It’s also there to protect you when the rain comes in and you’re a bit caught short if you’re out sunbathing or doing a bit of gardening to keep it in its summer glory.  This is one of the reasons why people generally don’t go for a carpet in the Conservatory as it also retains the heat. You’ll need to have a nice hard floor which makes it not only easy to clean but you do not want to be treading in mud and dirt without it being wipeable.

There are some people that don’t just use it as a pleasant place to watch the world go by. Many of them use it for yoga and as a nice little indoor gym. Yoga is all about the sense of getting yourself back to nature, so the conservatory is the place to be to get your yoga mat out and start to do your sun salutation or the taxing downward dog. As if that’s not enough then you can also move in the gym equipment and turn the place into a mini gym. At the very least you could get a gym cycle in there and look at the seasons change as you do the equivalent of the Tour De France and shed the pounds.

One other use of the Conservatory is the place for that annual Christmas dinner. Again, the garden plays the back drop, but it also gives you the space to keep the living room free for the in laws to sit around and watch the Queens speech without a large dining room table in the way. If it snows so much the better.
