With so much doom and gloom in the world, it is little wonder that preparing for the end of the world is on the rise. America has certainly embraced this with huge numbers of people now opting to start preparing themselves for the worst, it seems that the UK is also following suit.
One of the main things that people preparing for disasters – otherwise known as ‘preppers’ like to have is a bunker. Building a bunker to house you and your family is seen as the best way to survive a wide range of disasters that could happen – from nuclear war to extreme weather caused by climate change, bunker building is seen as the way forward.
So, if you want to build a bunker of your own, what do you need? Well the first thing is some suitable land – you will need somewhere to build and to be able to dig underground, so you will need to look at planning maps – you can find a planning map at the map shop.
Once you have identified and purchased suitable land, and have permission to build there, you then need to consider what you will need – how much space will you need to live in? Where will you store food and how much will you need to keep down there?
As well as this, you will have to add things like an electrical generator, an air filtration system and also a way to obtain clean water, or a huge store of suitable drinking water.
